Corinthians win 2012 Copa Libertadores

Corinthians, from São Paulo, won the 2012 Copa Libertadores on 4 July after beating the Argentine side Boca Juniors 2-0 in the final game in São Paulo after a goalless draw in the first leg in Buenos Aires.

It is the first time that Corinthians have won the South American title and will now play in the FIFA Club World Cup in Japan in December 2012.

Brazilian teams have been in the final of the Copa Libertadores for the last eight consecutive years, winning the last three tournaments through International, Santos and now Corinthians.
